The inspiration comes from the wildly popular handmade waist-level viewfinder circulating online. I used a 3D printer to create the plastic housing and additionally redesigned the structure for an improved user experience. For instance, through my verification and practical testing, I chose a 5070 one-way mirror instead of the commonly used 5050 one-way mirror. Why? In cardboard DIY viewfinders, the 5070 mirror can be positioned at a 45-degree angle against a 5cm cubic box, while the 5050 requires additional height padding, which is quite inconvenient.It has now been upgraded to the third generation, as shown in the video. Improvements include screw fixation and three-sided light shielding to produce clearer and more comfortable imaging—all without increasing the price! More versions with updated designs are still to come.
